In the case of furniture in the form of a cupboard or shelf, side walls and a rear wall are each joined to their vertical longitudinal edge via an extruded section having fixing legs (3a, 3b and 4a, 4b) arranged in pairs coming out of a centre piece and at least one linearly deformable hinge area (2). The side walls and the rear wall are arranged between the fixing legs. In order to enable the unit to be largely pre-assembled and to guarantee defined angles of pivot of up to 270 DEG , the following means are provided: a) a single linear hinge area (2) is arranged in the centre piece (M), b) support pieces (3c, 4c), each with a prismatic cross-section, are provided on either side of the hinge area (2), c) the fixing legs (3a, 3b; 4a, 4b) exhibit non-hinged ribs (7) at their free ends, which are directed towards one another and are locked into complementary grooves in the side walls and in the rear wall, d) the first and second level side faces (3d, 4d) of each support piece (3c, 4c) are in alignment with the hinge area (2), e) in which arrangement when the anchoring parts (3, 4) are extended the first side faces (3d, 4d) are also extended (180 DEG angle), whilst the second side faces (3e, 4e) enclose the prescribed angle of pivot between them, f) and the second side faces (3e, 4e) are provided with mutually complementary interlocking elements (3f, 4f). <IMAGE>

Bei einem Möbel in Form eines Schrankes oder Regals sind Seitenwände und Rückwand an ihren senkrechten Längskanten über je ein Strangprofil verbunden, das von einem Mittelstück ausgehende, paarweise angeordnete Halteschenkel (3a, 3b und 4a, 4b) und mindestens eine linienförmig verformbaren Gelenkzone (2) aufweist. Zwischen den Halteschenkeln sind die Seitenwände und die Rückwand angeordnet. Um dabei eine weitgehende Vormontage zu ermöglichen und definierte Schwenkwinkel von bis zu 270° zu gewährleisten, sind folgende Mittel vorhanden: a) im Mittelstück (M) ist eine einzige linienförmige Gelenkzone (2) angeordnet, b) beiderseits der Gelenkzone (2) sind Stützteile (3c, 4c) mit je einem prismatischen Querschnitt vorhanden, c) die Halteschenkel (3a, 3b; 4a, 4b) weisen an ihren freien Enden aufeinander zu gerichtete gelenkfreie Rippen (7) auf, die in komplementäre Nuten in den Seitenwänden und in der Rückwand eingerastet sind, d) erste und zweite ebene Seitenflächen (3d, 4d) jedes Stützteils (3c, 4c) fluchten mit der Gelenkzone (2), e) wobei bei gestreckter Lage der Verankerungsteile (3, 4) die ersten Seitenflächen (3d, 4d) sich gleichfalls in gestreckter Lage (180°- Winkel) befinden, während die zweiten Seitenflächen (3e, 4e) den vorgegebenen Schwenkwinkel zwischen sich einschließen, f) und daß die zweiten Seitenflächen (3e, 4e) mit zueinander komplementären Eingriffselementen (3f, 4f) versehen sind.
