This device is of the type comprising a plurality of rollers (3), on which a sheet (6) is engaged astride them, and detectors (13) of the presence of one of the edges of the sheet (6), which are aligned horizontally at the desired positioning height of this edge. According to the invention, this device includes a pusher (15), on which act operating means (16a, 16b) displacing it in a rotational movement about a vertical axis passing through one of its ends, so that it bears on the sheet in order to cause it to slide on the rollers (3) until its free edge has desensitised all the presence detectors (19), after it has reached its desired correct position. Ce dispositif est du type comprenant plusieurs rouleaux (3) sur lesquels est engagé à cheval une feuille (6), et des détecteurs de presence (13) de l'un des bords de la feuille (6) alignés horizontalement à la hauteur désirée de positionnement de ce bord. Selon l'invention, ce dispositif inclut un poussoir (15) sur lequel agissent des moyens de manoeuvre (16a, 16b) le déplaçant suivant un mouvement de rotation autour d'un axe vertical passant par l'une de ses extrémités afin qu'il appuie sur la feuille pour provoquer son glissement sur les rouleaux (3) jusqu'à ce que son bord libre ait désensibilisé tous les détecteurs de présence (19) après avoir atteint sa position correcte désirée. Applicable notamment au domaine de la blanchisserie industrielle.
