[origin: EP0424358A2] For controlling the flow quantity of combustion air to a burner (1) with fan, of a heating device, for example a water heater, which burner is fed with a fuel/air mixture, there is provided in the combustion-air guide (10) a valve (13, 14) which is automatic in stoppages, for example closing under the influence of a return spring (17) and only opening in the event of heat requirement. The valve body (14) of this valve (13, 14) can, inside a duct (10) serving for combustion air guidance and arranged above the combustion chamber (2), the heat exchanger (3) and the waste gas hood (6) of the burner (1) with fan, lie coaxially opposite a recess (13) which is provided in the wall of this duct (10) and serves as valve seat and via which the combustion air flows to the burner (1) with fan. <IMAGE>
