[origin: EP0424637A1] A fabric for producing ink ribbons for typewriters, printers or the like, whose threads are interwoven as warp and weft threads, in which at least one type of the threads (2, 3) consists of microfibres (7, 9). In each case one type of the threads (2, 3) can consist of silk; both the types of the threads (2, 3) can also consist of microfibres (7, 9). The microfibres (7, 9) consist of very fine filaments.
