A bristle stapler for inserting and attaching bristles by small anchor plates (14) has a stapler head (16), in which two guide jaws (28, 29) are provided for guiding the small anchor plates (14) which can be advanced by a ram (7). The guide jaws (28, 29) can be moved back and forth along the axis of movement (3) of the ram (7) in relation to the stapler head (16). The stapler head (16) is connected to a body (2) of the bristle stapler (1) by a guide with a spring (21) so that the stapler head (16) can be moved back and forth in relation to the body (2) in the direction of the axis of movement (3) of the ram (7). The guide jaws (28 and 29) are coupled to each other via lever means (60, 61, 62, 63, 64) in such a way that a forward movement of one guide jaw (28 or 29) in the direction of the axis of movement (3) is coupled with a reverse movement of the other guide jaw (29 or 28). Provided in the body (4) of the bristle stapler (1) is a movable slide (32), with which the movable stapler head (16) and the guide jaws (28 and 29), which are movable in the latter, can be brought into contact with the body (4) when the attachment means (14) passes into the guide jaws (28, 29). Ein Stopfwerkzeug zum Einpflanzen und Befestigen von Borsten durch Ankerplättchen (14) verfügt über einen Werkzeugkopf (16), in dem zwei Führungsbacken (28, 29) zum Führen der von einem Stößel (7) vorschiebbaren Ankerplättchen (14) vorgesehen sind. Die Führungsbacken (28, 29) sind entlang der Bewegungsachse (3) des Stößels (7) bezüglich dem Werkzeugkopf (16) hin- und herbewegbar. Der Werkzeugkopf (16) ist mit einem Körper (2) des Stopfwerkzeugs (1) durch eine Führung mit Feder (21) verbunden, so daß der Werkzeugkopf (16) bezüglich dem Körper (2) in Richtung der Bewegungsachse (3) des Stößels (7) hin- und herbewegbar ist. Die Führungsbacken (28 und 29) sind über Hebelmittel (60, 61, 62, 63, 64) derart miteinander gekoppelt, daß eine Vorbewegung des einen Führungsbackens (28 bzw. 29) in Richtung der Bewegungsachse (3) mit einer Rückbewegung des anderen Führungsbackens (29 bzw. 28) verbunden ist. Im Körper (4) des Stopfwerkzeugs (1) ist ein beweglicher Schieber (32) vorgesehen, mit dem beim Übergang des Befestigungsmittels (14) in die Führungsbacken (28, 29) der bewegliche Werkzeugkopf (16) und die in diesem beweglichen Führungsbacken (28 und 29) mit dem Körper (4) in Kontakt bringbar sind. Durch den beweglichen Werkzeugkopf (16) ist es möglich, auch Bürstenkörper mit schwankender Dicke zu stopfen.
