Abstract (en)

Known methods for increasing the filling capability of tobacco by treating the tobacco with pressurised gases and subsequent warming after removal of pressure are improved by a special circuit arrangement of the pressure vessels which creates a levelling of the temperature in the pressure vessel and permits control of the impregnation temperature and a lowering of the temperature shortly before the removal of pressure. As a result, both the degree of expansion of the tobacco and the plant capacity can be increased. To this end, a plurality of tobacco-filled vessels which are placed under pressure by the introduction of gas are arranged in sequence (train) for flow purposes, the gas flowing out of the first into the second, out of the second into a third and eventually out of the penultimate into the last vessel of the train, from which it is extracted and, after cooling, returned to the first vessel.

Bekannte Verfahren zur Erhöhung der Füllfähigkeit von Tabak durch Behandlung des Tabaks mit Gasen unter Druck und anschließendes Erwärmen nach Entspannung werden verbessert durch eine spezielle Verschaltung der Druckbehälter, die eine Vergleichmäßigung der Temperatur im Druckbehälter bewirkt sowie eine Steuerung der Imprägniertemperatur und eine Temperaturabsenkung kurz vor der Entspannung gestattet. Dadurch können sowohl der Blähgrad des Tabaks als auch die Anlagenkapazität erhöht werden. Dazu werden mehrere mit Tabak gefüllte Behälter, die durch Zufuhr von Gas auf Druck gebracht sind, strömungstechnisch hintereinandergeschaltet (Train), wobei das Gas aus dem ersten in den zweiten, aus dem zweiten in einen dritten und schließlich aus dem vorletzten in den letzten Behälter des Trains strömt, von wo es abgezogen und nach Kühlung wieder dem ersten Behälter zugeführt wird.
