To increase the effectiveness of and shorten the entire drying process, in laundry dryers the invention provides for driving their laundry drum and air-circulating blower from a single motor in a reversing manner and for giving the duration of the preferred direction of rotation of the blower in comparison with the duration of its opposite direction a design ratio of approximately 1:10 to approximately 1:50 during the heating phase. <IMAGE>

Zur Erhöhung der Effektivität und Verkürzung des gesamten Trocknungsprozesses sieht die Erfindung bei Wäschetrocknern vor, deren Wäschetrommel und Luftumwälzgebläse von einem einzigen Motor reversierend anzutreiben und die Dauer der Vorzugs-Drehrichtung des Gebläses im Vergleich zur Dauer seiner Gegenrichtung während der Aufheizphase im Verhältnis von etwa 1:10 bis etwa 1:50 auszulegen.
