[origin: EP0424781A2] To increase the effectiveness of and shorten the entire drying process, in laundry dryers the invention provides for driving their laundry drum and air-circulating blower from a single motor in a reversing manner and for giving the duration of the preferred direction of rotation of the blower in comparison with the duration of its opposite direction a design ratio of approximately 1:10 to approximately 1:50 during the heating phase. <IMAGE>
