The invention relates to a handling apparatus comprising a rail (6) and a carriage (7) provided with lifting means and arranged to be displaced along said rail, a member such as a chain having its two ends fixed to said carriage and being rolled on two pulleys mounted at the ends of the rail, one of these pulleys being driving. The rail is mounted slidingly in relation to a fixed structure (3, 4), locking means being provided to join at least one point of the member, such as a chain, to said structure. <IMAGE>

L'invention est relative à un appareil de manutention comprenant un rail (6) et un chariot (7) muni de moyens de levage et agencé pour se déplacer le long dudit rail, un organe tel qu'une chaîne ayant ses deux extrémités fixées audit chariot et étant enroulé sur deux poulies montées aux extrémités du rail, l'une de ces poulies étant motrice. Le rail est monté coulissant par rapport à une structure fixe (3,4), des moyens de blocage étant prévus pour solidariser au moins un point de l'organe tel qu'une chaîne à ladite structure.
