In a rolling machine (1), the tool holder (30) and the work support (2) can be moved in two directions relative to one another by means of two slides, the tool holder (30) having its own rotary drive unit (32), which is coupled as regards its speed of rotation to the speed of rotation of the work support (2) in such a way that only rolling friction occurs in the region of contact between the work (5) and the tool (3, 3', 3'') in each displacement position. A high degree of accuracy and flexibility of the rolling machine and a substantial reduction in the stresses on the work and on those parts of the rolling machine which take part in the forming are thereby achieved. The rolling machine is suitable for the production of any work of the type stated above, especially where accuracy requirements are relatively high, e.g. for belt pulleys. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Walzmaschine (1) sind der Werkzeughalter (30) und die Werkstückaufnahme (2) mittels zweier Supporte in zwei Richtungen relativ zueinander bewegbar, wobei der Werkzeughalter (30) einen eigenen Drehantrieb (32) aufweist, welcher hinsichtlich seiner Drehzahl mit der Drehzahl der Werkstückaufnahme (2) derart gekoppelt ist, daß in jeder Verschiebungsstellung im Anlagebereich zwischen Werkstück (5) und Werkzeug (3, 3', 3") nur eine rollende Reibung auftritt. Hierdurch werden eine hohe Genauigkeit und Flexibilität der Walzmaschine und eine weitgehende Schonung des Werkstuckes und der an der Umformung beteiligten Teile der Walzmaschine erreicht. Die Walzmaschine eignet sich für die Erzeugung von beliebigen Werkstücken der oben genannten Art, insbesondere bei höheren Genauigkeitsanforderungen, z. B. für Riemenscheiben.
