[origin: EP0425977A2] The present invention relates to an induction loop for installation in or under road surfacings for the automatic operation of switchgear, comprising one or more windings (2) of an electrically conductive material. In order to improve an induction loop of the abovementioned type in such a way that it can be laid much more simply and quickly in road surfacings and, furthermore, is considerably more resistant to movements of the road surfacing caused by weather effects or loads due to vehicles, it is proposed according to the invention that the windings (2) of the induction loop are laid in a hollow profile (1) which is open on one side and cast in the hollow profile (1) with a curable plastic (3). <IMAGE>
