Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a plastic foam body (1) having a covering layer on the flat sides (5,6), like a mattress or a seat cushion. Compression springs (4) are arranged in the body (1) oriented to the flat sides (5,6), and pressure distributing means (7,8) for distributing the forces exerted by the compression springs (4). The pressure distributing means (7,8) comprise separate pressure distributing dishes (8) placed on each spring (4). The dimensions of each dish (8) are greater transversely of the spring direction than those of the end portion of its associated spring (4). The invention further relates to a method for arranging springs (4) and pressure distributing dishes (8) in a foam body (1) by providing in the body (1) channels (3), arranging a spring (4) with a dish (8) in each channel (3), and closing of the channel (3).
