To secure a door of an automotive vehicle in any desired opening position, a mechanical door check (1) for doors of automotive vehicles is proposed, which essentially consists of a holder housing (70), arranged on a door-arrangement part, door or door pillar, and of a door-holding rod (2), articulated on the other door-arrangement part and passing through the holder housing, and also of a braking and holding device, accommodated in the holder housing (70) and cooperating with the door-holding rod (2), and is distinguished in that the holding device comprises at least one plate assembly (111), capable of being brought into frictional engagement with the door-holding rod (2) and supported tiltably in the holder housing (70), and an adjusting element (140) assigned to the initiation of the tilting movement of the plate assembly. <IMAGE>

Zur Festlegung einer Kraftwagentür in jeder beliebigen Öffnungslage wird ein mechanischer Türfeststeller (1) für Kraftwagentüren, vorgeschlagen, welcher im wesentlichen aus einem am einen Türanordnungsteil, Tür oder Türsäule, angeordneten Haltergehäuse (70) und einer am anderen Türanordnungsteil angelenkten, das Haltergehäuse durchsetzenden Türhaltestange (2) sowie einer im Haltergehäuse (70) untergebrachten und mit der Türhaltestange (2) zusammenwirkenden Brems- und Halteeinrichtung besteht und sich dadurch auszeichnet, daß die Halteeinrichtung wenigstens ein mit der Türhaltestange (2) in Reibschluß bringbares, kippbar im Haltergehäuse (70) abgestütztes Lamellenpaket (111) und ein der Einleitung der Kippbewegung des Lamellenpaketes zugeordnetes Verstellelement (140) umfaßt.
