Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0426957A2] A bolt unit (1) has a main drive, for example formed by an electric motor (8), for rotating blocking discs (7) out of a closing position into an opening position, in which blocking rails (11) cooperating with these blocking discs (7) can be displaced, together with the bolts (3), into the open position. There is additionally a key lock (13), by means of which the blocking rails (11) can be deflected or lifted until they can slide past the blocking discs (7) during the actuation of the bolt unit (1) when the bolts (3) are retracted, that is to say unlocking remains possible even when the blocking rails (11) are in the blocking position and their drive motor (8) is disturbed. By means of an additional lock (28), the blocking rails (11) can also be retained in the closing position, even when the blocking discs (11) are in the open position and their electrical drive has failed in this position. A bolt unit (1) can consequently be controlled remotely via its main drive, that is to say the various blocking devices can be released by remote control, after which the door is freed for opening. However, if this electric remote control fails, a possibility of mechanical actuation is available both for opening and for closing the door. <IMAGE>
