[origin: EP0427136A2] Smoothing iron comprising a sole (1) which is closed by means of a cover (2) and in which are made two chambers separated from one another by a partition (8), namely an evaporation chamber (6) supplied with water by way of an injection orifice (9) and a steam-distribution chamber (7) communicating, on the one hand, with the evaporation chamber and, on the other hand, with the outside by means of outlet ports (12). <??>According to the invention, the sole (1) comprises, furthermore, an intermediate evaporation chamber (15) arranged between the evaporation chamber (6) and the distribution chamber (7) and extending in the vicinity of the orifice (9). <??>This smoothing iron is designed for domestic steam ironing. <IMAGE>
