[origin: EP0427188A2] The invention relates to an electromagnetically controlled safe deposit box lock having an encodable clearance signal, a single keyhole orifice and a handle mounted in this orifice and intended for actuating the main bolt, the lock case having, in addition to a locking mechanism equipped with tumblers, an emergency bolt mounted under the main bolt. The object of the invention is to provide a lock of this type of versatile use which has a closed case rear side and the monitoring and control elements of which are easily accessible. This object is achieved in that the emergency bolt carries the turn pin of the locking mechanism, in that a sheave actuated by the handle via a closing shaft drives the main bolt and a blocking slide, in that the blocking slide carries a turn pin which is coupled to the main bolt and in the path of which is located a control lever interacting with an electromagnetically controlled blocking lever, in that the electromagnet is fastened to the bottom of the lock case, and in that the emergency bolt, actuatable by a coded emergency key after the removal of the closing shaft, detains the blocking lever in its return travel, with the result that the emergency-bolt turn pin is released and the main bolt shifts into the open position. <IMAGE>
