La présente invention concerne un procédé et l'installation de transfert de froid. Selon l'invention, dans une boucle (2) intermédiaire, on fait circuler un fluide frigo-porteur se présentant sous forme diphasique, c'est-à-dire sous la forme d'un mélange homogène d'eau et de glace par exemple. Ce fluide est échangé en chaleur, d'un côté avec une source primaire de froid, et de l'autre côté avec les différentes sources secondaires de chaleur représentées par chaque enceinte (1) à erfroidir.
