[origin: WO9001411A1] A tape (11) comprising a substrate (21) which provides a high strength at low weight, flame and smoke generation resistance and outside surfaces which have good wet out for adhering to pressure sensitive adhesives. A strand reinforcement (23, 25) may be adhered to the substrate for providing high strength reinforcement at low weight. A first adhesive layer (27) on the film substrate adheres the tape to the fabric, such as a floor covering. This adhesive layer is a pressure sensitive, moisture resistant adhesive. A second adhesive layer (29) on the film substrate adheres the tape to a floor surface. This adhesive layer comprises a thin layer of pressure sensitive, moisture resistant adhesive which has a low enough peel strength to permit the carpet and associated tape to be readily removed from the aircraft floor.
