[origin: WO9015325A1] In this method for analysing the frequency of moving fibre aggregates, the fibres (5) to be analysed are conveyed, in the form of a thin fibrous nonwoven, past a sensor (1). The sensor (1) generates a signal proportional to the quantity of fibres moving past it. The signal generated by the sensor (1) is fed to an evaluation unit (7) where it is processed. The resultant variation in the quantity of fibres versus time chart is converted to the frequency spectrum of the sensor signal by fast Fourier transform. The changes in the frequency spectrum which can be observed almost immediately can be used to control the machine in which the fibres (5) are processed.

Selon ce procédé, on fait passer devant un détecteur (1) les fibres à analyser (5) sous forme d'un non-tissé mince de fibres. Le détecteur (1) produit alors un signal proportionnel à la quantité de fibres qui passe devant lui et ce signal est redirigé vers une unité d'évaluation (7), où le signal produit par le détecteur (1) est traité; le diagramme des variations dans la quantité de fibres en fonction du temps est transformé par transformation accélérée de Fourier en un spectre de fréquences du signal du détecteur. Les modifications dans le spectre de fréquences que l'on peut constater presque immédiatement peuvent servir à commander la machine qui traite les fibres analysées (5).
