The object of the invention is, in relation to known devices, to shorten the time needed on average for cop-changing operations and to avoid unnecessary thread damage during the thread-splicing cycle. <??>This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that the thread-splicing and cop-changing device contains control circuits which monitor the success of steps within the step sequence of the thread splicing and cop change and which, if appropriate, in the event of faulty steps, control their repetition. <??>In particular, this monitoring relates to the check of the capture of the thread on the run-off bobbin side and on the run-on bobbin side and the subsequent repetition of the thread capture. Also included is the repetition of cop-changing operations which have not led to the provision of the thread on the run-off bobbin side. The thread monitoring is carried out by means of the electronic thread cleaner, present in any case, or via sensors present on the feeder for the thread on the run-off bobbin side or on the suction nozzle for the thread on the run-on bobbin side. <IMAGE>

Die Vorrichtung hat die Aufgabe, gegenüber bekannten Vorrichtungen die im Durchschnitt für Kopswechselvorgänge benötigte Zeit zu verkürzen und unnötige Fadenbeschädigungen während des Fadenverbindungszyklus zu vermeiden. Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß die Fadenverbindungs- und Kopswechseleinrichtung Steuerschaltungen enthält, die den Erfolg von Schritten innerhalb der Schrittfolge des Fadenverbindens sowie Kopswechsels überwachen und gegebenenfalls bei fehlerhaften Schritten deren Wiederholung steuern. Insbesondere bezieht sich diese Überwachung auf die Kontrolle der Erfassung des ablaufspulenseitigen (35') und des auflaufspulenseitigen Fadens (35") sowie die sich anschließende Wiederholung der Fadenerfassung. Ebenso eingeschlossen ist die Wiederholung von Kopswechselvorgängen, die nicht zur Bereitstellung des ablaufspulenseitigen Fadens (35') geführt haben. Die Fadenüberwachung erfolgt mittels des ohnehin vorhandenen elektronischen Fadenreinigers (27) oder über am Zubringer (24) für den ablaufspulenseitigen Faden (35') beziehungsweise an der Saugdüse (34) für den auflaufspulenseitigen Faden (35") vorhandene Sensoren (45,70). <IMAGE>
