[origin: EP0428008A1] The invention relates to a belt buckle for a restraining belt, having a spring-prestressed ejector (1) which can be brought into engagement with a belt tongue (3) which can be pushed into an insertion channel (2), and having a bolt (4) which can be inserted positively into at least one recess (5) of the tongue (3). To achieve a simpler construction and a simpler cost-effective production of a belt buckle which is adaptable to the various different sizes of tongues, the dimensions of the insertion channel (2) are such that the largest tongue (3) to be used can be pushed into this, and the ejector (1), for adaptation to different thicknesses and widths of the tongue (3), is equipped with a head (6) designed as an adaptor. <IMAGE>
