The invention relates to a locking device intended especially for motor vehicles and having a lock cylinder and a key, the lock cylinder comprising at least one cylinder housing with at least one blocking channel and a cylinder core with tumblers. <??>The essence of the invention is that the tumblers are each movable about an axis, and in that on the key or on the tumblers there is at least one projecting driver or a recess for converting the rectilinear key movement in the key channel into a movement of the tumblers about their axis. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine insbesondere für Kraftfahrzeuge bestimmte Schließeinrichtung mit einem Schließzylinder und einem Schlüssel, wobei der Schließzylinder mindestens ein Zylindergehäuse mit mindestens einem Sperrkanal und einem Zylinderkern mit Zuhaltungen umfaßt. Der Kern der Erfindung liegt darin, daß die Zuhaltungen je um eine Achse bewegbar sind und daß am Schlüssel oder zuhaltungssettig mindestens ein vorstehender Mitnehmer oder eine Ausnehmung zur Übertragung der geradlinigen Schlüsselbewegung im Schlüsselkanal in eine Bewegung der Zuhaltungen um ihre Achse vorgesehen sind. <IMAGE>
