[origin: EP0428033A1] The rotatable part (10) of a swivel (9) for fixing the fixed end of a crane rope (3) led over at least one loose pulley (8) holding the crane hook (7) or the like is to be positively rotatable by means of a drive. <??>By opposed turning of the rope line (12) adjoining the swivel (9), a counter-torque (15) can be then be exerted by means of the drive on the loose pulley (8) relative to that torque (14) which the other rope line (13) exerts on the loose pulley (8) and which would otherwise lead to the loose pulley (8) turning and to the two rope lines (12; 13) which hold it being knocked together. <IMAGE>
