Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0220483A2] The refuse-collecting system consists of a refuse vehicle and domestic refuse bins and serves for the separate reception of waste materials of the most diverse composition. For this, the refuse bin is divided into at least two chambers and the associated refuse vehicle correspondingly. To optimise the handling of the refuse-collecting system, the bin is so designed in the region of the bin handles, bin lid and partition walls that handling becomes substantially easier or is substantially improved. Furthermore, the refuse vehicle is adapted to the design of the partition walls, and its mode of operation is improved. <IMAGE>

[origin: EP0220483A2] The plastics moulded refuse bin has a hinged cover lid with the hinges (1.1) formed by raised tags on one side of the bin, to operate outside the bin. The hinges form grips by which the bin is lifted onto the discharge mechanism of the collecting vehicle. The bin is divided into sections by a movable bulkhead secured on the lipped upper part of the bin shape and with locating tags inside the bin. The collecting vehicle has a loading port with similar divisions as the bins, to direct the refuse into the sorted containers.
