[origin: JPH03269119A] PURPOSE: To provide the subject charger capable of simply regulating the thickness of a fiber layer to be fed to a carding machine by installing a hopper belt, a haspel for regulating a fiber bundle and a regulating wheel in a hopper in a specific state. CONSTITUTION: This charger is obtained by continuously driving a hopper belt 5 at a variable speed controlled with a cell 7 for regulating the thickness of a fiber layer on a spiked belt 6, installing a haspel 8 for regulating a fiber bundle above the hopper belt 5 and regulating the thickness of the fiber layer on the belt 6 together with a regulating wheel 9 at a variable speed.
