Abstract (en)
An integrated circuit device which is applied for a digital communication system and has an input terminal and an output terminal, said device comprising: decoding means (102a, 102b) for receiving an ADPCM data signal supplied through the input terminal and converting the ADPCM data signal (A1, A2) into a first linear PCM data signal (A1 min , A2 min ); a first external connection terminal (106a, 106b) for receiving and outputing the first linear PCM data signal; a second external connection terminal (108a, 108b) for receiving a second linear PCM data signal input to said integrated circuit device; a third external connection terminal (110a, 110b) for receiving a switch control signal input to said integrated circuit device; switch means (104a, 104b) for receiving the first and second linear PCM data signals at first and second inputs of said switch means per se, and for performing a switching operation to generate only one of the first and second linear PCM data signals in response to the switch control signal; and signal converting means (112a, 112b) connected to said switch means, for converting the output signal supplied to said switch means into a nonlinear PCM data signal.
