[origin: EP0429838A2] The invention relates to a slicing machine, in particular for bulbous vegetables or fruits, having a rotor which is mounted rotatably in a rotary housing (10), drives the product to be cut in the direction of rotation (11) and in so doing presses it against the inner wall of the rotary housing (10), which is formed over a circumferential portion by a lid (7) which is mounted so as to be able to pivot at its front end relative to the direction of rotation (11) of the rotor and defines, in the open position, with its rear end opposite a fixedly arranged cutter (9) a cutting gap (12) which determines the cutting thickness and for the alteration of which an adjusting device (1-6) which pivots the lid (7) is provided. According to the invention, provision is made for a resilient device (8) which pivots the lid (7) into an increasing open position, and for a manually rotatable eccentric (1) which acts upon the lid (7) counter to the action of the resilient device (8). <IMAGE>
