[origin: EP0429951A2] The invention relates to a method for cleaning reusable containers containing paint residues. In this method, the paint residues contained in the containers are subjected to a drying treatment, in particular a microwave treatment. Subsequently, a cold treatment takes place. The paint residues which are dried by the drying treatment and made brittle by the cold treatment are largely released from the container by mechanical deformation of the containers and removed from the container.
