[origin: EP0430834A1] A monobloc box for a roller shutter is composed of a U-section profile (7) each end (14, 15) of which is covered by a lateral side-plate (16, 17), and of a removable front cover (13), this box enclosing at least one shaft (25) supporting a shutter (26) and having, at the level of its ends, tail shafts (35) held by support cheeks (36, 37) located in the same vertical plane as slides (31, 32) serving as a guide for the lateral ends of the shutter, one of these tail shafts (35) being provided with an operating device (38) placed, with respect to the shutter (26), beyond the corresponding support cheek (36). In order to improve the mechanical strength, the fixing to the casing frame (2) of a window or similar (4) and the design of this monobloc box, its support cheeks (36, 37) are independent of the lateral side-plates (16, 17) and provided with means (40, 41, 52) ensuring a direct connection between them and the said casing frame (2). <IMAGE>
