Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0430889A2] The multiple insulating glazing comprises two panes of glass (3, 5), which are kept at a distance from each other by a hollow, self-contained spacer profile (1). The hollow space (11) is filled with a drying agent (13). The spacer profile (1) consists of glass fibre-reinforced polycarbonate as heat-insulating material. The inner wall (17) of the spacer profile (1) which encloses an inner space (9) is permeable to water vapour by virtue of a plurality of holes (15) connecting the inner space (9) to the hollow space (11). The outer wall (19) opposite the inner wall (17) is impermeable to water vapour and gas by virtue of a sputtered-on layer (21), the sputtered-on material and its layer thickness being chosen such that the heat transfer of the spacer profile (1) is not markedly increased. <IMAGE>
