Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0430900A2] To invert a sock, produced on a circular knitter, the sock is carried by suction from the knitter to a displaced inversion station, where it is stopped and held with the elastic welt upwards. The elastic welt is gripped equidistantly round its circumference, and is opened out by centrifugal force. While the welt is held open, it is pulled towards the toe to invert the sock. The welt is released and the sock is carried onwards by suction, with the toe leading.
