[origin: EP0431381A1] A combat tank having a rotatable turret, in which is arranged a heavy gun which is pivotable in elevation and the gun barrel (1) of which is mounted in a gun cradle (2) and is guided outwards through a gun surround (5). The beam path of an optical sighting instrument (6) fixed to the gun runs in a first branch (6.1) parallel to the gun (1) through the gun cradle (2). It is then deflected upwards between the gun cradle (2) and gun surround (5) by a first deflecting mirror (7.1) and guided to a point above the gun surround (5), where it is deflected forwards by a second deflecting mirror (7.2) and guided to the objective lens (6.3').
