[origin: EP0432455A1] In a wet-dry vacuum cleaner having a collection container for soiled liquid, a suction assembly for generating a suction pressure in the collection container and a suction line leading from a suction nozzle to the collection container, in order to be able to undertake the switchover from wet to dry vacuum cleaning as far as possible without changes to the actual appliance, it is proposed that a chamber be arranged in the suction line for dry vacuum cleaning, into which chamber the suction line opens on the side of the suction nozzle and from which chamber the suction line emerges again on the side of the collection container, and that an air-permeable and dust-tight filter bag be arranged in the chamber, into which bag the suction line opens out on the side of the suction nozzle. <IMAGE>
