[origin: EP0432518A2] The invention relates to the shaping of profiles (1), which are pressed in moulds from a mass of wood particles and the like, mixed with a binding agent, in the manner of the process described in EP-A-0,086,899. To increase the bending and warping strength of such profiles (1) and to make the profiles usable for forming frames, e.g. door frames, the invention proposes to form on one broad side of the profile (1) a relatively wide strip-shaped step (2) and on the opposite broad side of the profile (1) a plurality of continuous groove-shaped recesses (3). The webs (4) situated between or next to the recesses (3) are each constructed narrower in their width than the step (2), it being preferred for the width of the step (2) to be approximately equal to the sum of the widths of the webs (4). <IMAGE>
