In a high-performance bar or wire rolling mill, especially for the single-strand twist-free rolling of rolling stock, with a roughing train 1 having in each case a plurality of roll stands or roll units, at least one intermediate train 2 and an adjoining finishing train 3 with a subsequent finishing block 4 if required, it is proposed that roll changing be carried out in accordance with the minimised sequence of passes in each mill section, the changing of the rolls in the roughing train 1 being carried out with crane tools 15, in the intermediate train 2 with manipulators 16 and in the finishing train 3 by means of rapid-change devices 17 and in addition by means of manipulators 16 if required, all the roll stands or roll units in the individual mill sections 1 to 4 having removable rolls 18, 31, 32, 46 in floating mounts in order to increase the availability and output of the rolling mill. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Hochleistungs-Stabstahl/Drahtstraße, insbesondere für das einadrige drallfreie Walzen von Walzgut mit jeweils mehrere Walzgerüste bzw. Walzeinheiten aufweisender Vorstraße 1, mindestens einer Zwischenstraße 2 und anschließender Fertigstraße 3 mit gegebenenfalls nachfolgendem Fertigblock 4 wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Walzenwechsel nach Maßgabe der minimierten Kaliberreihen in jedem Straßenabschnitt erfolgt, wobei der Walzenwechsel in der Vorstraße 1 mit Kranwerkzeugen l5, in der Zwischenstraße 2 mit Manipulatoren 16 und in der Fertigstraße 3 mittels Schnellwechselvorrichtungen 17 gegebenenfalls zusätzlich mittels Manipulator 16 erfolgt, wobei sämtliche Walzgerüste bzw. Walzeinheiten in den einzelnen Straßenabschnitten 1 bis 4 fliegend gelagerte, abziehbare Walzen 18, 31, 32 46 aufweisen, um die Verfügbarkeit und das Ausbringen der Walzstraße zu erhöhen. <IMAGE>
