[origin: EP0432703A2] The invention relates to a process for grinding concave surfaces on castings, especially on blades of Pelton turbines, the surfaces being machined with a rotating grinding tool in accordance with the difference between the actual over-measurements and a setpoint over-measurement table. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the process. In order to achieve machining of concave surfaces of castings by automated grinding, the surface is to be ground using a grinding wheel guided by a robot arm under multi-axis processor control, the grinding wheel being guided in such a way that an angle which increases as the radius of curvature of the surface area decreases is maintained between the plane of rotation of the grinding wheel and the surface area to be machined.
