In a matrix printer, a matrix print head (1) is mounted on a carriage (2) which can be moved backwards and forwards and is guided on a rail guide (3), it being possible to operate the printing elements (4) at a high frequency. <??>In order to counteract the generation of noise by the print head (1), the carriage (2) and the rail guide (3) by conducting away solid-borne sound to frame parts of the printer by using sound damping and soundproofing, it is proposed that a matrix print head (1) which can be fixed in its position relative to the carriage (2) is provided at least on one cover surface (8) between the matrix print head (1) and carriage (2) with a solid-borne sound-damping layer (10) of an elastic material, and that the matrix print head (1) and the carriage (2) can be clamped to one another in this area.

Bei einem Matrixdrucker ist ein Matrixdruckkopf (1) auf einem hin- und herbewegbaren, auf einer Schienenführung (3) geführten Schlitten (2) gelagert, wobei Druckelemente (4) mit einer hohen Frequenz betätigbar sind. Um einer Geräuschbildung über den Druckkopf (1), den Schlitten (2) und die Schienenführung (3) durch Körperschalleitung auf Rahmenteile des Druckers entgegenzuwirken durch Anwendung von Schalldämpfung und Schalldämmung wird vorgeschlagen, daß ein zum Schlitten (2) in seiner Position festlegbarer Matrixdruckkopf (1) zumindest an einer Bezugsfläche (8) zwischen Matrixdruckkopf (1) und Schlitten (2) mit einer körperschallhemmenden Schicht (10) eines elastischen Werkstoffes versehen ist und daß der Matrixdruckkopf (1) und der Schlitten (2) in diesem Bereich miteinander verspannbar sind.
