[origin: EP0433237A2] The mat consists of an inert, viscoelastic polyurethane foam core which has very good drop and impact absorbing properties and which is additionally provided with, and thus reinforced by, a tough coating made of polyurethane in such a way that said foam can subsequently be used as a landing mat for extreme jumps or as a shot receiving mat for shot putting or even for extreme loading conditions in sport or for protecting man, equipment, etc. <IMAGE>
