[origin: US5059078A] An apparatus for the combing-in and binding of punched single sheets into a prefabricated wire comb having a multiplicity of teeth bent into circles and connected to one another, which are inserted into punched-out holes in the sheets, where the apparatus includes a closing device having a movable closing beam with a counter-pressure plate for bending the prefabricated wire comb into a circular shape. Retaining elements are arranged on the counter-pressure plate or a part connected to the counter-pressure plate, which position at least a part of the teeth of the wire comb. The counter-pressure plate is slidable under the closing beam with the retaining elements positioned such that the single sheets are inserted into the wire comb for binding.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Einkämmen und Binden von gestanzten Einzelblättern in einen vorgefertigten Drahtkamm besteht aus einer Vielzahl von zu Kreisen gebogenen und miteinander verbundenen Zinken, die in die Ausstanzungen eingesteckt werden, mit einer Schließeinrichtung, die einen beweglichen Schließbalken mit einer Gegendruckplatte zum Biegen des vorgefertigten Drahtkammes in die Kreisform besitzt. Haltegeglieder (23) sind auf der Gegendruckplatte (13) oder einem mit der Gegendruckplatte verbundenen Teil angeordnet, die wenigstens einen Teil der Zinken des Drahtkammes (11) positionieren. Die Gegendruckplatte (13) ist mit den Haltegliedern (23) von einer Position aus, in der die Einzelblätter (25) in den Drahtkamm (11) eingelegt werden, unter den Schließbalken (15) zum Binden verschiebbar. <IMAGE>
