Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0433703A1] In the transfer sections 1 of a chairlift having a circulating conveying rope 2, the deceleration and acceleration sections 4 and the exit and entrance sections 12 are provided with friction wheels 6 and 10 which together define a travel path 20 for the in-coming and out-going chair 50. The chairs 50 are supported on this travel path with in each case one U-shaped running rail 80 which is downwardly open and contains a concave friction surface 88. Each running rail 80 is rigidly connected to the running gear element of the associated chair. The friction wheels 6 and 10 which are constructed as wheels with pneumatic tyres have guide edges which interact with guide surfaces of the running rails and ensure that the chairs move in a straight line. <??>In the sections provided with the friction wheels, fixed travel rails for supporting the chairs are thus superfluous. The running gears of the latter can be of very compact design. (Fig. 1).
