[origin: EP0433933A1] In plastic casings for electrical plug connectors, a plastic surround is provided to ensure longitudinal waterproofing which is adequate even for use in the open air, which plastic surround surrounds the cable entry gland (1) and rests on the cable jacket in its interior. To this end, the cable entry gland (1) consists of two parts which are integrally connected to one another by spacers. In order that the longitudinal waterproofing is ensured not only on the cable but also on the spacers, the latter are provided with several radially projecting ribs. The two parts (8, 11) of each half shell (6) are integrally connected to one another before extrusion coating, in each case by at least one spacer web (10), which is thin in comparison with the wall thickness of the half shells (6) and is unprofiled at right angles to the longitudinal direction, the material of the cable entry gland (1) having a lower melting point than that of the plastic surround (9). <IMAGE>
