For monitoring and regulating the relative position of a yarn layer (10) in respect of the sectional warping drum (12) of a sectional warping machine (2), optical sensors (42, 47) which monitor the edge yarns (21, 23) of the yarn layer (10) are used. There is a controller arrangement (60), by means of which servomotors (20, 25, 29) can be deflected in such a way that the relative position of the warping reed (9) in respect of the sectional warping drum (12) can be maintained at a desired point. <IMAGE>

Zur Ueberwachung und Regelung der Relativlage eines Fadenverbands (10) zur Schärtrommel (12) einer Schärmaschine (2) werden optische Sensoren (42, 47) eingesetzt, welche die Randfäden (21, 23) des Fadenverbands (10) überwachen. Es ist eine Regleranordnung (60) vorgesehen, mit welcher Stellmotoren (20, 25, 29) derart ausgelenkt werden können, dass die Relativlage des Schärriets (9) zur Schärtrommel (12) auf einer Sollposition gehalten werden kann. <IMAGE>
