Method for drying laundry in a programme-controlled drum drier, in which the drying air flow, which is heated by an electric heating device, is delivered through the laundry drum by means of a blower and the laundry drum is driven during the drying process. During or towards the end of the drying process, one or more successive rest period phases are included, during one of which the drying air flow and/or the electric heating device is partially or completely switched off. There is as a result, even with laundry items with different moisture absorption capacity, a uniform degree of drying throughout.

Verfahren zum Trocknen von Wäsche in einem programmgesteuerten Trommelwäschetrockner, bei dem der durch eine elektrische Heizeinrichtung aufgeheizte Trocknungsluftstrom mittels eines Gebläses durch die Wäschetrommel gefördert und während des Trocknungsprozesses die Wäschetrommel angetrieben wird. Während oder gegen Ende des Trocknungsprozesses werden eine oder mehrere aufeinander folgende Ruhezeitphasen eingelegt, während einer solchen der Trocknungsluftstrom und/oder die elektrische Heizeinrichtung ganz oder teilweise ausgeschaltet wird. Dadurch ergibt sich auch bei Wäschstücken mit unterschiedlichem Feuchtigkeitsaufnahmevermögen ein durchgehend gleichmäßiger Trocknungsgrad.
