[origin: EP0435015A2] Method for drying laundry in a programme-controlled drum drier, in which the drying air flow, which is heated by an electric heating device, is delivered through the laundry drum by means of a blower and the laundry drum is driven during the drying process. During or towards the end of the drying process, one or more successive rest period phases are included, during one of which the drying air flow and/or the electric heating device is partially or completely switched off. There is as a result, even with laundry items with different moisture absorption capacity, a uniform degree of drying throughout.
