Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0435056A2] A method is specified for the continuous marking of electrical wires, by means of which method annular features, limited in the axial direction, are applied to the surface of the wires by means of ink jets. The ink jets emerge under pressure from at least one nozzle driven by an electrical oscillating system, whose frequency is controlled in proportion to the withdrawal rate of the wire. In order simply to change the axial distance between the features, square wave pulses are supplied to the oscillating system from a converter which converts an electrical DC voltage into a frequency, by means of which the frequency of the oscillating system is predetermined. A DC voltage, proportional to the withdrawal rate of the wire, is passed to the converter as the nominal value.
