Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0435083A2] In a hollow-charge projectile having a percussion fuse and a spacer (6) in front of the hollow charge (1), with the spacer (6) extended the formation of the spike and therefore a high penetration effect are guaranteed. But if the spacer (6) is not extended or is extended only partially, such a warhead displays a substantially intensified side effect on relatively thin (also reactive) armouring. The easy adjustability of the spacer (6), conventionally by hand, therefore means that the gunner has available two weapons of differing effect for different targets in one warhead. <IMAGE>
