Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0435817A2] The ink duct has an open frame (3), in which an ink roller (1) is rotatably mounted and a doctor blade carrier (2) is retained. The doctor blade carrier is arranged such that its gap-forming edge lies above the centre line of the axis of rotation of the roller. The roller and the doctor blade thus together form an ink trough. This arrangement results in the roller and doctor blade carrier flexing in the same direction during operation. With corresponding dimensioning and mounting of the roller and the doctor blade carrier, a uniform ink layer can be applied to the roller regardless of the viscosity of the ink and regardless of the circumferential speed of the ink roller. <IMAGE>
