Abstract (en)
In the case of an internal combustion engine with reciprocating pistons, a cylinder block, a cylinder head and a transmission and an external structure for reducing noise, the transmission (1) is connected to the external structure (4) solely by way of the rigid cylinder head (3), the external structure (4) being fixed to the cylinder head (3) by way of a cylinder head gasket (2) and closed off on its underside by a rigid component, for example a ladder frame (5), so that the external structure (4) is distinctly reinforced in that a box is formed which is enclosed on all sides. In addition the side parts of the external structure (4) can be connected together by transverse screw connections (20). Furthermore, attachments (24), engine suspension (23) and gears on the transmission (1) can be fixed by way of intermediate pieces (21), preferably cylindrical in shape, firmly connected to the cylinder block (14), and these intermediate pieces (21) pass through the external structure (4). <IMAGE>

Bei einer Brennkraftmaschine mit hin- und hergehenden Kolben, einem Zylinderblock, einem Zylinderkopf und einem Triebwerk sowie einer Außenstruktur zur Schallreduktion, ist das Triebwerk (1) mit der Außenstruktur (4) nur über den steifen Zylinderkopf (3) verbunden, wobei die Außenstruktur (4) über eine Zylinderkopfdichtung (2) am Zylinderkopf (3) befestigt ist und an ihrer Unterseite durch einen steifen Bauteil, z.B. einen Leiterrahmen (5), abgeschlossen ist, sodaß die Aussenstruktur (4) deutlich versteift wird, indem eine allseits geschlossene Schachtel gebildet ist. Zusätzlich können durch Querverschraubungen (20) die Seitenteile der Außenstruktur (4) miteinander verbunden werden. Auch können über mit dem Zylinderblock (14) fest verbundene Zwischenstücke (21), vorzugsweise mit zylindrischer Form, Anbauteile (24), Motoraufhängung (23) und Getriebe am Triebwerk (1) befestigt sein und diese Zwischenstücke (21) die Außenstruktur (4) durchdringen. <IMAGE>
