For the precision docking of a cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) on an ink jet print head (8) which can be moved by line in an ink jet printer (1), the cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) is coupled to a pivoting device (31) for pivoting the cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) onto the ink jet print head (8). The cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) is mounted so as to be laterally displaceable relative to a docking position of the ink jet print head (8) in a given catch region (a), adjusting elements (33, 81) being assigned both to the cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) and to the ink jet print head (8), which adjusting elements engage in one another when the cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) is pivoted onto the ink jet print head (8) situated in the vicinity of a docking position and thus centre the cleaning and capping station (6, 6b) on the ink jet print head (8). <IMAGE>

Zum positionsgenauen Andocken einer Reinigungs- und Dichtstation (6, 6b) an einen zeilenweise bewegbaren Tintendruckkopf (8) in einer Tintendruckeinrichtung (1) ist die Reinigungs- und Dichtstation (6, 6b) mit einer Schwenkeinrichtung (31) zum Anschwenken der Reinigungs- und Dichtstation (6, 6b) an den Tintendruckkopf (8) gekoppelt. Die Reinigungs- und Dichtstation (6, 6b) ist bezüglich einer Andockposition des Tintendruckkopfes (8) lateral verschieblich in einem vorgegebenen Fangbereich (a) gelagert, wobei sowohl der Reinigungs- und Dichtstation (6, 6b) als auch dem Tintendruckkopf (8) Justierelemente (33, 81) zugeordnet sind, die beim Anschwenken der Reinigungs- und Dichtstation (6, 6b) an den sich im Bereich einer Andockposition befindlichen Tintendruckkopf (8) ineinandergreifen und damit die Reinigungs-und Dichtstation (6, 6b) auf den Tintendruckkopf (8) zentrieren. <IMAGE>
