Roll changers used previously are designed in such a way that rolls of web-type printing carrier, which have been prepared so that they are ready for gluing, are inserted into the respective replacement roll position and are completely unwound in each case when the roll change has taken place. The possibility of automatic application of an adhesive to the replacement roll and only partial unwinding of such a roll are not provided for. The roll changer according to the invention is designed in such a way that the beginning of the web of the respective replacement roll only needs to be provided with an adhesive directly before the roll change and that a roll change can take place at any desired time, i.e. especially without the partially unwound roll having to be unwound completely. For this purpose, the roll changer which is constructed in a manner known per se has a controllable adhesive application device (6) which is controlled by means of a control device (11). The control device (11) also controls the other functions of the roll change, control taking place on the basis of data entered via an input device (12) and data received from measured value transmitters (10, 13). Bisher verwendete Rollenwechsler sind so ausgelegt, daß klebefertig vorbereitete Rollen bahnförmigen Bedruckstoffs in die jeweilige Ersatzrollenposition eingesetzt werden und nach erfolgtem Rollenwechsel jeweils vollständig abgewickelt werden. Die Möglichkeit eines automatischen Aufbringens eines Klebemittels auf die Ersatzrolle und ein nur teilweises Abwickeln einer solchen Rolle sind nicht vorgesehen. Der erfindungsgemäße Rollenwechsler ist so ausgelegt, daß der Bahnanfang der jeweiligen Ersatzrolle erst unmittelbar vor dem Rollenwechsel mit einem Klebemittel versehen zu werden braucht und daß ein Rollenwechsel zu einem beliebigen Zeitpunkt, d.h. insbesondere ohne daß die in Abwicklung befindliche Rolle vollständig abgewickelt sein muß, erfolgen kann. Der in an sich bekannter Weise aufgebaute Rollenwechsler weist für den Zweck eine steuerbare Klebemittelauftragvorrichtung (6) auf, die mittels einer Steuereinrichtung (11) gesteuert wird. Die Steuereinrichtung (11) steuert auch die übrigen Funktionen des Rollenwechsels, wobei die Steuerung auf der Grundlage von über eine Eingabeeinrichtung (12) eingegebene Daten und von Meßwertgebern (10, 13) empfangenen Daten erfolgt. Die Erfindung ist auf alle Rollenwechsler für Rollenrotationsdruckmaschinen anwendbar. <IMAGE>
